Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
This policy explains how I, James Corbett, trading as PFD Strategies, collect and use personal information through this website and in the course of my consultancy work. I am the data controller for that information. If you have any questions, email me at pfdstrategies@icloud.com.
What I collect
When you get in touch: your name, email address and the contents of your message, plus anything else you choose to tell me.
If we work together: contact details for you and your colleagues, the information I need to deliver the work, and details needed for invoicing.
When you visit this website: Squarespace, which hosts the site, automatically collects technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. This keeps the site secure and working, and gives me anonymous statistics about visits.
How I use it, and why
To reply to your enquiry: this is in my legitimate interests, or is a step you have asked me to take before we agree to work together.
To deliver work and manage our relationship: this is necessary for our contract, or in my legitimate interests where the contract is with your organisation.
To keep accounts and meet tax obligations: this is a legal obligation.
To run, secure and improve this website: this is in my legitimate interests (see Cookies below).
I don't sell your information, use it for marketing without your consent, or make decisions about you by automated means.
Who I share it with
I only share your information with:
Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes contact form submissions and website statistics
Apple, which provides my email service
my accountant and other professional advisers, where needed
HMRC and other authorities, where the law requires it.
These providers act on my instructions and must keep your information secure.
Some of these providers store information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work: I keep these for up to 12 months, then delete them.
Client records: I keep these for as long as we work together, and afterwards for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes (normally six years).
Cookies
This website uses cookies set by Squarespace:
Essential cookies keep the site secure and working. They don't need your consent.
Analytics cookies give me anonymous, combined statistics about how the site is used, so I can improve it. They aren't used for advertising or to track you across other websites.
You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the cookie banner when you first visit, and change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences button at the bottom of the page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to:
ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
have it corrected or deleted
restrict or object to how I use it
ask for it to be transferred to someone else.
Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To use any of these rights, email pfdstrategies@icloud.com. I will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first at pfdstrategies@icloud.com. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond as quickly as I can.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator. You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
